We love G-40 Garlic for its exceptional flavor and excellent storability. It is one of the few heirloom garlic varieties designated “G40” for its exquisite taste.
At first glance, its bright white bulbs with silver or purple striping may look like ordinary garlic, but G-40 is truly unique. The perfectly round bulbs hide purple-skinned cloves that fit together like a puzzle.
This garlic variety starts growing slowly, with its early leaves crawling prostrate along the soil. However, in late spring, they suddenly stand tall, as if lifted by cosmic forces.
G-40 Garlic has a medium to high heat level, preserving much of its complex flavor even when cooked. Its tightly wrapped bulbs ensure better storability than many other varieties, often lasting more than 8 months in good conditions. Each bulb contains 9-14 variably sized cloves.
